On April 18, 2022, the Broward County Administrator signed off on the New MPO Evaluation and Ranking (E&R) Process! The New MPO E&R Process was improved to reflect the priorities and requirements of the Second Amendment (Section IV.B.).
The estimated FY2027 Minimum Annual Guarantee (MAG) to collectively fund all municipal surtax projects is $39,139,610. Per the Second Amendment (Section V.B.), MAG funding must first be allocated for Community Shuttle Service each Fiscal Year. The remaining MAG available for Municipal Capital Projects (MCPs) was estimated to be $20,036,920. The Department of Revenue’s final Projected MAG is expected to be provided to the MAP Administrator in July 2022.
After evaluating and ranking 100 New MCP applications submitted during the 2022 application period, the MPO identified the highest-ranked MCPs within the MAG for FY2027 Funding Recommendations to Broward County.
Approximately 64% ($12.8M) of the available MAG for FY2027 was reserved for Cycle 1 MCPs, which required additional funding as documented in the current Five-Year Plan. The MPO recommended the seven (7) highest-ranked projects totaling $16.1M before the available MAG was exceeded.
